What We Do
We are leading the effort to eliminate food scarcity in our local communities through student lead initiatives
Our Mission
Through collaboration with local partners, innovative food programs, and community-driven solutions, we are working to make sure food reaches those who need it most. Our goal is simple — a community where no one is left behind when it comes to having enough to eat.
What We Do
Our first initiative focused on schools where students had limited access to food. Rather than following the traditional model of delivering general food donations, we took a different approach — we asked the schools and students exactly what types of food they wanted.
We then ran targeted food drives, making it clear to donors what items were needed most. To fill any gaps, we partnered with corporate sponsors to secure monetary contributions, allowing us to purchase the specific food the kids had requested.
This approach ensured students received food they actually wanted to eat, while fostering a sense of dignity and care throughout the process.
“YCBC made it easy to partner with. There was no food waste because the kids received exactly the food they asked for.”
— Justin Borsato, Britannia Elementary School
